Eunhyuk sat perched on his bed, just staring out the window as the rain slammed against his glass windows. He sighed and just laid back down against the mattress. A flash of lightening tore across the sky and illuminated the boy's dark room for a mere second before all went dark again. He clucked his tongue and turned onto his side to face the wall. He tossed and turned but no matter what he did he couldn't get him out of his head.

Finally giving up, Eunhyuk sat back up on his bed and reached over to his bed side table to grab his cell phone. He quickly flipped it open and just looked closely at the screen. There on the screen was himself and another boy hugging and laughing. That boy was his best friend Donghae. The two boys had grown up together and were practically brothers; they did everything together!

Normally on nights like this he would call Donghae and beg him to come over so they could play together but at this point he wasn't sure he wanted to call Donghae, he was too confused. He had thought he had known everything about Donghae but apparently he had been wrong.

It had been about two days already that he had been avoiding his best friend, two days since Donghae had confessed to him. They had been playing basketball like normal and the heat had finally gotten to Eunhyuk. It wasn't unusual for him to play shirtless but after he had taken off his shirt he had caught Donghae staring at him. He had questioned the younger but he had just coughed and looked away. He could have sworn he had seen a blush on his face but he had passed it off as the heat. Now he realized that it actually had been a blush.

He jogged downstairs and went into their kitchen to grab a box of strawberry milk. He looked to the side and saw some banana milk next to it, Donghae's favorite. He sighed and quickly shut the door went back to the stairs.

"Eunhyuk? Is that you?"

Eunhyuk ducked his head back into the living room, "Yeah mom."

He saw his mother and father sitting on the couch and looked to see his elder sister sitting on the floor in front of them messing with her phone. His mother turned and smiled at him, "Honey, why haven't I seen Donghae around lately? He normally lives here."

Eunhyuk gulped, "Um, he has company."

She gave him a look but let him go anyway. He got back to the stairs and just went up two at a time and slammed the door to his room shut. He leaned his back against the door and slowly began to slump down into a heap on the floor.

What the hell was he supposed to do about this?

Donghae meanwhile, was having similar thoughts on the situation at hand. He had been harboring feelings for his best friends since their early teens but he had always been able to control himself and not let it show.

He sat in front of his computer screen, lazily browsing through the web but not really paying attention to what was on the screen. He jumped when a beep sounded just to his left and he hurriedly clicked on the blinking icon in the corner, praying it was Eunhyuk. He felt his heart sink when he saw that it was his friend Shindong asking when their next dance practice was. He quickly typed the date back and closed the chat window.

Once he chat had closed he saw the picture of himself and Eunhyuk from just a few months ago, hugging and laughing together after a crappy game of basketball. He wondered if they could ever do that again or if he had completely screwed up everything. He groaned and leaned back in his chair to just stare at the ceiling. Normally when he was stressed he could just listen to music and sleep but neither of those were helping.

He could always call or text him but he doubted he would answer; if Donghae had been in Eunhyuk's position he certainly wouldn't answer. Then again he had put himself in this position so he could only blame himself.

"This is ridiculous." Donghae hissed and jumped to his feet.

Running to his closet, he drug out his favorite hoodie and quickly slipped it on. He grabbed his CD player and his headphones and went to reach his phone but stopped. In moods like this he really didn't want to talk to anyone but what if Eunhyuk tried to contact him…? He thought for a moment and then mentally scoffed at himself. Eunhyuk wasn't going to call him. Or text him. He probably would never look at him again.

Donghae grabbed his basketball and just left his phone his nightstand.

Eunhyuk sucked on his straw absentmindedly. It was still raining so he couldn't really go outside which is how he usually did to release stress or pressure; dance. He would dance and dance until his legs gave out on him and he felt that all his worries had simply been sweated away. It was at times like those Donghae would always appear; when Eunhyuk was laying on the ground, panting and sweating and unable to move because his feet hurt too much. Donghae would always give him a helping hand up and pretty much carry him back to his house. He would always scold Eunhyuk for pushing himself too much and Eunhyuk would always just give him that huge gummy smile of his and promise Donghae he wouldn't do it again.

Of course Donghae would just huff at him and pout saying that he would just do it again next week. Eunhyuk would throw back his head and laugh before hugging Donghae close to him.

Thinking back, the two of them had always had a thing for touching each other a bit more than normal friends would. But what shocked Eunhyuk more was that he was usually the one who would initiate it, not Donghae. He was always the one who would pull Donghae close, hold Donghae's hand, and cuddle up next to Donghae when they would watch a movie together. And now he was just ignoring him.

A flash of movement outside of his window caught his eye and snapped him away from his thoughts. He saw a familiar blue hoodie race past his window in the rain. He couldn't see the face but he didn't need to, the little fish on the bottom of the jacket confirmed his suspicions.

"Donghae!"

He opened his window and yelled out to his friend but, surprise surprise, the wind, rain, and thunder covered up his voice. He tried again but got the same results. What the hell was Donghae thinking going out in this weather? He could get sick or get hurt if he wasn't careful! Eunhyuk grabbed his heart at the thought of Donghae being hurt in anyway, it wasn't right. Donghae was always the one taking care of him and keeping him from getting injured even though he was even clumsier than Eunhyuk himself.

He quickly shut his window and stared at the already disappearing figure. Should he go after him or should he just…leave him alone. Biting his lip out of mere habit he clenched his hands into fists and squeezed tightly; this was Donghae he was going after! He would never have hesitated to go after Eunhyuk yet here he was debating on whether or not to go get his best friend and possible boyfriend.

Eunhyuk blushed at the thought of having a boyfriend. He wasn't exactly opposed to it but the idea was foreign to him. He had had girlfriends in the past but none of them had really captured him and he never thought of himself finding pleasure in the company of another man, least of all his best friend. When Donghae had confessed to him he had looked…almost ashamed. Donghae had looked like his pet fish had just died, but why? Wasn't he supposed to love Eunhyuk, isn't that what he had said?

Questions like these raced through Eunhyuk's head as he stared out the window and into the storm. Did he love Donghae? A little part of him knew the answer to that question already. Did Donghae love him? He was knew for a fact that Donghae would never joke about something like this so it was obviously the truth.

"Ugh!" Eunhyuk groaned and turned on his heels, running out of his room, down the stairs, and out the front door, ignoring the calls of his parents.

Music blasted through the speakers in Donghae's headphones so loud he wouldn't be surprised if he blew out the speakers but he wasn't bothered by the volume. His arms and legs moved with the rhythm of the notes and the beat of the melody of the song as he danced, danced his stress away and just lost himself in the music. No longer did the cold sting of the rain hurt his face or make his entire body cold, no, now he was hot, boiling even. His body burned from the nonstop motion and energy loss but it didn't bother him. Right now all he needed was the burn everything away, his fears, his anxiety, his self loathing, all of it; he just needed his escape. The rain began to fall down even harder but Donghae didn't notice it. He spun on the wet concrete and just let his eyes fall closed as he danced, he didn't know what he was dancing but it didn't matter to Donghae because a release was a release.

The boy's clothes were sticking to his body like a second layer of skin and soaking through him but he didn't mind the cold, his whole body was numb to it anyway. His foot slipped a bit on the slick pavement but he just kept on dancing away either too far gone to care about his own health or just ignoring it.

He failed to notice the panting figure behind him, watching him dance.

He failed to notice the tears falling from those eyes that he loved.

He didn't hear the broken voice that called out his name.

Donghae couldn't hear or see or feel anything aside from the music coursing through his body and the moving of his limbs. His shoelaces began to come undone and flop around as his feet twisted and turned around each other.

Another wrong step and he tripped a bit but because of the shoelaces he began to fall. He closed his eyes and waited for his body to slam into the cold and wet pavement and for the pain that would explode in his side at the impact. He could feel the wind rush through his drenched clothes as he fell but the impact never came. He landed on top of something…warm. He opened his eyes of was greeted by the sight of huge eyes scanning over his face and lips moving but he couldn't understand the words because of the shock.

Eunhyuk shook Donghae a bit but he still didn't respond, he just stared at him with his mouth open. At first he couldn't figure out why he wasn't responding too him but he soon saw the blue cord of his headphones and smiled a bit.

He gently sat up, wincing a bit as he moved his aching back, and shifted Donghae to where he was being held close to his chest. He brought his hand up to cup Donghae's cheek and then slid his hand up to where he had a hold of the earphone and pulled them off of his friend's ears.

"Can you hear me now?"

Donghae nodded albeit hesitantly.

Eunhyuk chuckled a bit and smiled, "Well that's better now."

Donghae couldn't help himself, "Why are you here?" the question fell from his lips before he could even realize that he had spoken.

Eunhyuk looked away a bit and just took a deep breath, "I came to find you."

Donghae's brow furrowed, "What did you say?"

Eunhyuk scowled a bit and looked his friend straight in the eye, "I saw you running through the rain and just…came after you."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

Donghae looked at his lap when he realized he was still on top of Eunhyuk. Blushing furiously he tried to scramble off of him but Eunhyuk just tightened his grip on Donghae's waist. He pulled Donghae back to his chest and buried his face in his neck, "Can we stay like this? Just a bit longer…."

Donghae was still redder than a tomato but he gave a small nod and just let Eunhyuk nuzzle him for a little bit. He laid his head down on the blond man's shoulder and just closed his eyes and let Eunhyuk's warmth soak into him.

The two boys just sat in the rain for who knows how long, hugging each other close and not speaking. Eunhyuk had not moved from Donghae's neck and the other from his shoulder. It felt nice, Eunhyuk thought, having Donghae here in his lap, holding him and having the boy in his arms. What had he been so scared of?

"Eunhyuk?' Donghae's small voice broke him out of his thoughts.

"Hm?"

"What does this mean…?" he tried to keep the hope and fear out of his voice but it was harder than he thought.

Eunhyuk pulled back a bit and just looked at Donghae with a blank look. Donghae flinched at that look and tried to pull away. He knew Eunhyuk didn't want him like that but still….that look had hurt, even more than a simple rejection would have.

"Hey," Eunhyuk cooed in his ear but he still struggled in the older boy's hold. He wanted out and away so he didn't have to see that face.

"Let me go!"

"No." Eunhyuk's voice was calm and confident.

"Why? So you can just reject me and ridicule me more? I don't want it! Now let me go!" By this point Donghae was almost sobbing. He had just had too much, he knew it had been a mistake to tell Eunhyuk but he had had a small spark of hope that the other would return his feelings.

Apparently not.

"Who says I'm rejecting you?'

Donghae froze.

He snapped his head up to see Eunhyuk's signature, gummy smile on his face, "But…you…"

"I what?"  Eunhyuk raised an eyebrow.

"I, I thought you were going to be disgusted with me. That look on your face, that blank look, I thought you were going to-"

"Donghae!" Eunhyuk's voice interrupted his babbling, "Even if I didn't like you like this, I wouldn't ridicule you for liking me. I could never do that to you!"

Donghae's heart sang at those words, "So that means that you…?"

Eunhyuk smiled and leaned down to peck his cheek, "Yep, it means that I, Lee Hyukjae, like you, Lee Donghae."

For the first time in what felt like years a huge grin broke across Donghae's face, "I like you too Lee Hyukjae."

Eunhyuk smiled and suddenly jumped up causing Donghae to tumble to the concrete but Eunhyuk caught his hands and yanked him up. He flew towards Eunhyuk who just caught him and hugged him till he couldn't breathe.

"Now, can we go home please?" Eunhyuk whined, "It's cold out here!"

For the first time Donghae noticed Eunhyuk's lack of a jacket, "Why the hell didn't you bring a jacket or something?! In case you haven't noticed it's raining out here!" Donghae gestured to the still pouring sky.

Eunhyuk gave him a flat look, "Yeah, I hadn't noticed that. It was kind of preoccupied with getting to you at this point. But no I didn't know it was raining, I thought someone had just let their garden hose run."

"In the sky?"

Eunhyuk just stared at Donghae before sighing and tugging his hand, "Come on Fishy."

"So, yours or mine?" Donghae asked.

Eunhyuk shrugged, "My parents are home but you know they love you."

Donghae thought for a moment but decided to risk it, "Well my parents are gone for a week."

Eunhyuk stopped and Donghae just stared at his back, 'Too soon Hae, too soon.'

"Oh are they?" Eunhyuk turned with a mischievous smile on his face.

Donghae smiled and nodded. He yelped as Eunhyuk suddenly spun him around and put his arms around his waist, "Well then, shall we go get warm?'

It took Donghae a moment to figure out what Eunhyuk meant but when the realization hit him, he blushed once more. He leaned up and pecked Eunhyuk on the lips, "It is quite cold isn't it?"

Eunhyuk leaned down and whispered in his ear, "You won' be cold for long Hae."

And with that he took off with Donghae not far behind him, both racing towards the abandoned house right down the street and looking forward to a very eventful evening with each other.
My first EunHae fic so don't kill me because it's so bad okay? I wrote this for Rheanin because she's cute and I love her and she needs EunHae in her life.
